ANIMATION PROJECTS
MONDAY MORNING
Monday Donut was born on a Monday—a day when everything seemed to go wrong. The project was developed in Blender, with the goal of making it look as close as possible to a 2D animation while spending less time on production. During the process, I discovered I could automatically generate an outline around the geometry, making it appear hand-drawn. There’s also a touch of traditional animation in the frames where the coffee splashes. The idea was to create something with a sarcastic tone while experimenting with Blender’s shapekeys.
This project started from a grenade model I created in ZBrush. The goal was to achieve a colorful and dynamic look, similar to what could be done using only two tones per object. The final piece became a mix of frame-by-frame 2D animation and a simple 3D character. For an animation with several different shots like this one, the process had to be split into three separate projects, each with its own set design, since most of the elements were “faked” to achieve the desired effect. This workflow allowed me to combine stylization with efficiency, giving the animation a unique hybrid quality.
POMEGRANATE DREAMS
HEADING OFF ON VACATION
This animation is part of an experimental process in 3D design, aiming to make the final look resemble 2D as closely as possible. The project began with the design and modeling of the car itself, which I later developed into a more complex scene meant to capture the feeling of starting a vacation. All the modeling and texturing were done by me. Even though the final result looks clean, achieving the right shaders required a fairly intricate process.
A SUITCASE AT THE AIRPORT
This animation is part of an experimental process in 3D animation, where you try to animate without any rig and only making shapekeys/blendshapes of the principal geometry.
